Food tour was so good we then booked a history tour

We had time between our arrival at the Athens airport and our flight to the islands so had arranged for the Welcome Food Tour. The guide was exceptionally knowledgeable, personable and a great communicator. The Welcome experience was so positive that we arranged for a historical tour with them when we returned to Athens later in the trip, and the guide was just as exceptional with deep knowledge and passion. There was a great level of detail while at the same time not dwelling on such minutiae that the tour didn't move. Both tours and guides gave us a level of knowledge of the city and the sites that we were able to return to them afterwards with comfort level of where we were and what we were seeing.

Walking Food Tour With Nico

My husband and I booked our walking tour as a way to see more than just the Monuments of this ancient city. On the day of the tour, the gods decided to reward us with unending rain. Nevertheless our guide Nico was upbeat. We had a great tour and tasted more wonderful food than our tummies had room for. I would definitely recommend them as a new way to see Athens.

A fantastic experience in the centre of Athens!

I am thoroughly impressed by the service provided by Big Olive City Walks. I ordered a city walk intended for professionals in the food, wine and spirits sector coming from all over the world, and what we got was a well-researched and organised walk that included tasting of traditional products that was interesting and highly entertaining even for a born and raised Athenian like myself. Highly recommended!

Culinary experience

Having previously enjoyed other Welcome walks I was intrigued to take the Culinary one. This one is not for the moussaka and kebab brigade but for those interested in how the history of Athens is reflected in its little known gastronomic delights. Cannot speak highly enough of the experience.

Amazing food walk of Athens!

I went on a tour of some of the culinary treasures of Athens. WOW! All of the stops (from pastries to pies) were phenomenal food and excellent value. I really appreciated Nikos' ability to explain the history of Athens through the food and his thoughtfulness in letting us do the tour in the evening which happened to be more convenient for us. A particularly impressive aspect of the tour was that despite the fact our group had people who had lived in Athens, some who visit regularly, and some who had never been we all felt like the tour was aimed at us and our knowledge. A highly professional, flexible and kind outfit run by approachable staff. I thoroughly recommend it for any visitor to Athens!

Exceptional Tour with an Authentic Flavor

We did the oriental food tour of Athens, with Ilias as our tour guide. Ilias showed us the gems of Athens where we sampled authentic Greek street food and he peppered his explanations with alot of humour and an extensive knowledge of Greek history, art and archetecture from antiquity up to modern times. Ilias thanks for a great day! Highly Recommended!

Fantastic tour with a city expert

We did the food & heritage tour with Ilias, who is passionate about history and an absolute expert about Athens. He told us about the amazing past of his beloved city, particularly its merging of various cultures, and walked us around the city explaining the history of the architecture and neighborhoods and eating delightful foods. My husband and I were the only ones on the tour that day, so we had fun talking to Ilias about life in Greece, where the locals go, etc. My husband, who normally doesn't like guided tours and prefers doing things on our own, even said afterwards, "That tour was absolutely worth it." You will eat plenty of food around lunchtime so don't eat a huge breakfast! I especially loved the savory pies we sampled, the cheese and the delicious wraps. I'm salivating while typing this review!
