Your journey begins at 1Wat Mahathat, home to one of Thailand’s most famous images—a serene Buddha head entwined within the roots of a banyan tree. As you walk among scattered prangs and chedis, you’ll get a sense of Ayutthaya’s former importance as a powerful spiritual and cultural center.

Continue to 2Wat Phra Si Sanphet, once the royal family’s temple and one of the grandest complexes in the ancient city. Its three towering chedis dominate the landscape and stand as a striking symbol of Ayutthaya’s royal and religious heritage.

Next, visit 3Wat Chaiwatthanaram, a beautifully preserved riverside temple built in distinctive Khmer style. Its tall central prang and balanced layout create an impressive silhouette, while its position along the Chao Phraya River offers excellent photo opportunities and scenic views.
