We traveled from one end of the island to the other. Wewanted to walk part of the way to Oia from the funicularand our guide let us off the minibus and pick us up at the end of the trail. We then visited Oia, ate a very good gyro, went to a winery and drove to the other end of the island near the lighthouse.
We'd pre-booked with Welcome for a day trip in Athens and also a full day to cover the Mycenaean Greek sites & the picture-postcard-perfect town of Nafplio. Our driver, us round and was courtesy personified and a treasure trove of knowledge on Greek history and culture. We had a great time during those two days inspite of inclement weather. The icing on the cake was his recommendation for lunch at Savouras ,a fish taverna in Nafplio. A delectable experience.
The eternal city indeed. We were a group of 6 people and we had Gaber with a black Mercedes Minivan to drive us around allowing us to stop anywhere for photos. Gaber's passion for Rome is huge! He has deep knowledge of the places we visited and offered a tailored treatment as we did not want to walk much. Ask to go to Janiculum to watch the cannons! Truly great experience!
We loved the Glass factory! We had the chance to walk through the narrow streets of this magnificent city and we are lucky to have Gino with us!
