Tel Aviv / Starting Point
Tel Aviv, a city on Israel’s Mediterranean coast, is marked by stark 1930s Bauhaus buildings, thousands of which are clustered in the White City architectural area.
Basilica of the Annunciation, Nazareth
The towering cupola of the Church of the Annunciation in Nazareth stands over the cave that tradition holds to be the home of the Virgin Mary.
Tabgha
Tabgha is an area situated on the north-western shore of the Sea of Galilee in Israel. It is traditionally accepted as the place of the miracle of the multiplication of the loaves and fishes and the fourth resurrection appearance of Jesus after his Crucifixion.
Capernaum
Capernaum, in the Galilee of northern Israel, is a Biblical village. Today the town of Kfar Nahum (Talhum in Arabic) stands where Capernaum once stood, and the site attracts thousands of pilgrims and tourists from around the world every year.
About the ride
This is a not-to-be-missed private day trip from Tel Aviv. Get picked up from central Tel Aviv and travel in your private air-conditioned car towards the valley of Armageddon to the Church of Annunciation and St. Joseph in Nazareth. Passing Cana and the Church of the Miracle of the Multiplication visit Capernaum, at the foot of Mount Beatitudes. Continue past Tiberias to Yardenit and pass Mount Tabor on the return journey.
You will travel north along the scenic coastal plain or HaSharon area and then turn eastwards through the plain of Armageddon with a view of biblical Megiddo. On the way to Nazareth, you can have a brief stop at the Mount of Precipitation.
Your first stop in Nazareth is at the beautiful Church of Annunciation built on the site where the angel Gabriel appeared before Mary. Adjoining it is the Church of St. Joseph, recalling the carpentry where Jesus and Joseph worked.
As you will leave Nazareth, on the way towards the Kinneret, the Sea of Galilee, we pass Cana, site of the first wonder performed by Jesus, the turning of the water to wine. On the seafront, at the foot of Mount Beatitude, you can visit both Capernaum, home of Peter, and the Benedictine Church commemorating the miracle of the Multiplication of the Loaves and the Fish.
