Take a day trip to the Catalan countryside and explore the coastal city of Tarragona. Your Welcomer will share historical facts, essential information about the sites, and personal insights to help you immerse yourself in the Spanish lifestyle. After a comfortable 100 km drive, you’ll reach Tarragona—one of Spain’s oldest port cities, founded before the 5th century BC and renowned for its ancient Roman ruins and unique religious architecture.

Your journey begins at 3Tarragona Amphitheatre, a remarkable symbol of ancient Rome located just outside the city. This impressive site once accommodated up to 13,000 spectators who gathered to watch gladiator battles and wild animal hunts. You’ll then visit 2Tarragona Cathedral, a Romanesque/Gothic religious building founded in the 12th century. Today, it houses beautiful works of art and significant historical artifacts—and Game of Thrones fans will instantly recognize it as a filming location from the series.

Continue your visit with a walk through 4Tarragona City, where you can explore local streets and visit the Central Market of Tarragona. This vibrant market is where residents shop for fresh seasonal products and a variety of local goods.

Next, head to 5Balco del Mediterrani, a beloved viewpoint located at the top of Rambla Nova. Standing 40 meters above the sea, this balcony offers spectacular panoramic views of Tarragona and the Mediterranean coastline. The final highlight of your trip is the iconic 6The Ferreres Aqueduct, a magnificent 249-meter-long ancient Roman aqueduct built to supply water to the former city of Tarraco.

At the end of your Tarragona exploration, your driver will take you back to your accommodation in Barcelona.
