About the ride
After the sun has set, you will be picked up directly from your accommodation, and taken on your tailor-made journey through the highlights of Rome in the romantic setting of the night with the company of a local. Let your personal driver/guide start show you the Eternal City and admire its illuminated landmarks!
Your driver will then take you to see one of the most iconic historical sites in Rome, the 1Colosseum. At night this unbelievable display of Italian architecture comes alive. Once illuminated, the magnificent shadows it casts over the surrounding areas will leave you breathless. The next stops on this charming evening excursion will be 2Piazza Venezia and the 3Trevi Fountain. If you think this iconic fountain is beautiful in the daylight, you should see it when it is fully illuminated at night. Continue to 4Spanish Steps, or the Piazza Della Repubblica, a lovely square at the summit of the Viminal Hill, which is home to the world-famous 5Pantheon. This Piazza leads way to one of the main streets in Rome, Via Nazionale, which we will follow to explore more of the Old City. Probably one of the most stunning places to visit by night is your next stop, the 7St. Peter's Square. The next stop on the tour will be the famous ‘Wedding Cake’. This victory monument in honor of Vittorio Emanuele II is so named because of its pristine, snowy white marble exterior, and it is definitely a sight to behold by night. Whilst in the Ancient area of Rome, you will also have the chance to see the Ancient Forum, the Circus Maximus and Palatine Hill.
Passing along Vian Giulia, one of the most important streets in Renaissance Rome, you will then enter the beautifully illuminated Piazza Farnese, where you will be able to hear the sweet sounds of local street musicians busking long into the night. After this cultural affair, you will be taken over the Tiber river, to St Peter’s Basilica and square, where you can marvel at the warm yellow glow this usually imposing building casts across the waters of the Tiber.
And finally, for the grand finale to your magical night of wonders, you will be taken to 8Janiculum Hill, Rome’s highest viewpoint, where you can marvel at the awe-striking, panoramic views of the Eternal City in all it’s sparkling glory.
After an evening exploring the best Rome has to offer, you will then return to your Welcome car, and be transported safely back to your accommodation.
EDITOR’S NOTE
- Ask your driver to drop you off at Trastevere at the end of the tour to soak up the nightlife of the city! Taste some Italian Pasta or a traditional Carbonara accompanied with a glass of white wine.
