Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum / S-21

Choeung Ek Genocidal Center / Killing Fields

Cambodia-Vietnam Friendship Monument
See one of Phnom Penh’s most prominent modern monuments, located near the Royal Palace area. The monument represents the historical relationship between Cambodia and Vietnam and is closely associated with the events following the fall of the Khmer Rouge regime. Its large-scale figures and surrounding park make it an important national landmark. The stop also offers an opportunity to discuss Cambodia’s post-war history.
Independence Monument & Norodom Sihanouk Memorial
Visit two important national landmarks located close to one another in central Phnom Penh. The Independence Monument commemorates Cambodia’s independence and features a distinctive design inspired by traditional Khmer architecture. Nearby, the Norodom Sihanouk Memorial honours the former king and his role in the country’s modern history. The surrounding park provides a peaceful final stop for reflection.
