About the ride
Take a half-day trip from 1Porto / Starting Point the famous Douro Valley to learn more about the history of Portuguese Wine and admire dreamy landscapes near the Douro River. On the day of the trip, the Welcome Driver will pick you up from your accommodation in Porto and give the complete tour in an air-conditioned, spacious car. On your way to different towns, you will have a chance to stop at the most picturesque locations and admire the wonders of Portugal. At each stop, your friendly driver will answer all the questions you may have, share the local knowledge and more tips about each destination.
After an hour of you will be arriving on your first stop within the Valley, 2Provesende Village . Stroll around the narrow streets of this typical Portuguese small village and stop for some shopping of traditional products. Provesende sits on top of the Valley offering magnificent views for unforgettable photos.
Next, you are going to visit Amarante ad the Church of the Convent of São Gonçalo. Then continue on to 3Pinhao to admire the scenery and explore this lovely village at your own pace.
Your driver will suggest paying a visit to the famous 4Pinhao Train Station to view its blue-and-white tile murals depicting the scenic countryside and swathes of vineyards that make up the Douro landscape. Moving on you will have the chance to take a boat trip within the Douro River and see the magnificent views of the valley from the water if you wish to.
Douro Valley is famous for its tradition to produce great wines of different varieties. Visit a winery and together with your driver that will help you find the best, do a 5Wine Tasting before ending your ride with some lunch to a traditional Portuguese restaurant after your driver's recommendation.
At the end of your trip, your friendly Welcome driver will take you back to your hotel or apartment in Porto with your senses full of scents and tastes!
