Suggested Itinerary

Begin your ride from 1Chania / Starting Point, traveling comfortably through western Crete as you head toward the island’s breathtaking southwest coast.

Your first stop is 2Chrisoskalitissa Monastery, a historic Orthodox monastery dramatically perched on a rocky hill overlooking the Libyan Sea. Reach the monastery via its iconic stone staircase, said by local tradition to have a final golden step visible only to the faithful. Dedicated to the Holy Trinity and the Dormition of the Virgin Mary, the monastery has roots dating back to the Middle Minoan period and has endured centuries of invasions and upheaval. Today, it remains one of the most important landmarks of southwest Crete, offering serene views and a powerful sense of history.

Continue onward to the legendary 3Elafonisi Βeach, one of Crete’s most famous and exotic beaches. This protected Natura 2000 area is known for its pink-tinged sand, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and unique landscape of dunes, sand lilies, and juniper trees. Shallow lagoon waters make parts of the beach ideal for relaxing and wading, while other sections offer more secluded coves with striking azure colors. The beach is partially organized with umbrellas, showers, lifeguards, and snack bars, while quieter stretches provide a more natural and peaceful atmosphere.
