Duomo Cathedral

Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II

Brera District & Gallery
Brera was once the Bohemian art district of Milan, but it has rapidly developed to become a center for fashion, design and chic venues for aperitivo and dinner. There is located and the famous Brera Gallery.

- Duomo Cathedral, probably considered the symbol of Milan, Duomo Cathedral – simply known as Duomo – is among the most important Gothic buildings in the world. Its construction started in 1386 but locals have to wait over 450 years to see the church completed with today’s features.
- Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, located in the heart of the city, a few steps away from the Duomo, this monumental four-story arcade has a long history to tell. Its origins are said to date back to the Middle Ages when it was used as a covered passage.
- Brera and its art gallery, acknowledged by many as the most picturesque, artsy district in Milan, Brera is a favorite haunt for artists all types, from painters to musicians. It is actually quite common to be able to spot a painter sitting at a border its pedestrian streets drawing a real-time work of art.
- Navigli, designed by Leonardo da Vinci in person with the aim of transporting goods, the Navigli are curious Amsterdam-like artificial canals. In the past centuries, these curious waterways connected almost any part of the city with the others and were crossed by bridges, like a small Venice.
- San Siro Stadium and Museum San Siro stadium, known as the Milanese temple of football is one of the most appreciated spots by sports and soccer lovers in town. Currently, home to A.C. Milan and F.C Internazionale (Inter) teams, the stadium is a majestic circular building
- Teatro alla Scala – Scala Opera House, all the greatest singers (Maria Callas, to name but one), actors and dancers of the last two centuries have performed at least once at the biggest and most important theatre in Milan: la Scala.
- Colonne di San Lorenzo , lying half-way from the Navigli and one of the major ways leading to the city center and the Duomo, the Colonne di San Lorenzo date back to Roman times.
- Sforza Castle and its Museums, once the private residence of Milan’s rulers, the Visconti family, the castle was built around the 15th century on the remains of ancient defensive city walls.
- Via Montenapoleone, for every shopping addict coming to Milan, be it the first time or one of a long list, Montenapoleone district is for sure a not-to-be-missed destination.
- Arco Della Pace, a triumphal arch built in Neoclassical style and lying just a few steps away from one of the most renowned green hubs in Milan, Parco Sempione.
