Sainte-Mère-Église
This peaceful Norman town became one of the first to be liberated during the D-Day invasion. Walk through its charming square and visit the Airborne Museum, which vividly tells the story of the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions who parachuted here before dawn on June 6, 1944. Don’t miss the famous church where an American paratrooper’s parachute still hangs from the steeple a powerful symbol of the town’s dramatic role in the liberation of France.
Utah Beach
Utah Beach offers one of the most authentic glimpses into the D-Day landings. Pointe du Hoc
A breathtaking cliff rising above the English Channel, Pointe du Hoc was the site of one of D-Day’s most daring missions. U.S. Army Rangers climbed the 30-meter cliffs under heavy fire to neutralize German artillery positions threatening the beaches below. Today, the site remains almost untouched — with bomb craters, shattered bunkers, and panoramic views that tell the story of heroism and sacrifice more vividly than any textbook could.
Omaha Beach & American Cemetery
Known as “Bloody Omaha,” this stretch of sand saw some of the fiercest fighting on D-Day. Visiting Omaha Beach and the Normandy American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer is an emotional and humbling experience. The cemetery’s 9,000 white crosses perfectly aligned above the sea create one of the most moving memorials in the world, honoring those who gave their lives for freedom.
