Begin your discovery of Bratislava at the iconic Bratislava Castle, a striking medieval fortress set high above the city. From its hilltop position, take in sweeping panoramic views over the Danube River and Slovakia’s capital before making your way downhill toward the Old Town, passing pastel-colored houses and charming medieval squares along the route. Along the walk, admire St. Martin’s Cathedral, once the coronation church of Hungarian kings and renowned for its beautiful stained-glass windows. Nearby, see the modern Slovak National Theatre, take photos with the playful Čumil statue, and climb St. Michael’s Tower for another impressive viewpoint overlooking the historic center.
