Suggested Itinerary

Begin your ride at 1Pico do Arieiro Summit, where sweeping views reveal Madeira’s rugged mountain ridges rising high above the clouds. From this dramatic vantage point, your driver will explain the island’s volcanic formation and the geography that shapes its breathtaking scenery.

Continue toward 2Ribeiro Frio (Laurisilva Forest), located within the Laurisilva forest, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its ancient laurel trees and unique biodiversity. This peaceful area offers a refreshing contrast to the island’s coastal landscapes.

The tour then leads you to 3Santana Traditional Houses, where colorful triangular houses with thatched roofs represent one of Madeira’s most recognizable cultural symbols. Your Welcomer will share insights into the island’s rural traditions while you explore the village at your own pace.

Next, stop at 4Portela Viewpoint, where panoramic views stretch across lush valleys and the dramatic northern coastline—one of the most scenic viewpoints on the island.

As the journey continues, head toward 5Porto da Cruz, a charming seaside village known for its beautiful coastal scenery and long-standing rum-making tradition. This is also a perfect location for a relaxed lunch stop if desired (at your own expense).

Before returning to Funchal, enjoy a final scenic stop at 6Ponta de São Lourenço Viewpoint, where the rugged peninsula reveals another side of Madeira’s volcanic landscape with sweeping views of cliffs and the open Atlantic.
