This beautiful natural setting reveals a different side of Madeira beyond its coastal scenery.

Continue toward 2Levada dos Balcões Walk, where one of the island’s most scenic levada trails offers a gentle and rewarding nature walk. These historic irrigation channels were built centuries ago to transport water across the island and today form a network of picturesque walking paths through forests and valleys.

The walk leads toward 3Balcões Viewpoint, a spectacular viewpoint overlooking Madeira’s dramatic mountain landscape. From here, visitors can admire sweeping views of green valleys and rugged peaks that define the island’s interior.

As the experience continues, stop at 4Portela Viewpoint, where another breathtaking viewpoint reveals Madeira’s north coast and rolling countryside.
