Day Ride From Thessaloniki to Halkidiki

Chalkidiki is made up of three smaller peninsulas, known as the ‘three legs’, Kassandra, Sithonia, and Mount Athos. When you arrive to Hadiki, you will be taken straight to the first leg, Kassandra, a stunning mix of blues and greens, that perfectly combines picture-perfect beaches, turquoise waters, and traditional little Greek villages. Your driver will be able to stop at different little bays and beaches for you to explore during your time on the coast of Kassandra, however, and if any area catches your eye your driver will happily take you there. While in the area we strongly recommend visiting the magnificent Sani Beach.

Once you have finished soaking up the sun and splashing in the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean sea, you will be taken to the traditional village of Afitos. This little cobblestone village is one of the most picturesque places in the whole of Chalkidiki, as it has its own unique architectural style, complete with cozy little taverns to enjoy your authentic Greek lunch. Once you have refreshed and refueled, you will then have the option to visit the anthropological marvel that is the Petralona Cave.  

The fascinating Petralona cave was found by Pertalona locals when looking for fresh groundwater. After some excavation, a skull of a transitional form, between Homoerectus to Homosapiens neanderthalensis, was discovered in 1960. Nowadays this cave is a popular attraction for anyone looking to learn more about the history of the area, or for those wishing to see the unbelievable stalactites and stalagmites that have taken over 700,000 years to form. 

After your archaeological adventure, you will then return to your air-conditioned Welcome car and begin your relaxing journey back to Thessaloniki, where your driver will drop you safely back to your accommodation.
