Your Welcomer will serve as your local guide who will share the historical facts, the necessary information about the sights and, of course, his personal input in order to immerse you into the Athenian lifestyle. The sightseeing ride is totally private and personalised, meaning that, together with your driver, you can choose which of the suggested stops you wish to make and the time to allocate to each one. There is always a suggested itinerary to follow but you are free to customise it according to your preferences.
The Sightseeing Ride can include many interesting stops visitors always enjoy. Firstly, the famous 1Acropolis Hill & Museum where you can admire the elegant temple of the Parthenon and after that, the modern Acropolis Museum that houses impressive statues and artifacts of the ancient Greek civilisation.
Another idea would be to stroll along Dionysiou Areopagitou Street, a pedestrianized street adjacent to the south slope of the Acropolis where you can also admire the ancient Theatre of Dionysus and the Odeon of Herodes Atticus. Walking a bit further down, you will have the chance to explore 2Plaka - Monastiraki, quaint areas developed around the ancient Agora, where you can find all kinds of small shops. The heart of the city beats around the 3Constitution Square, in Greek Syntagma, the meeting point for both tourists and locals. If you are lucky, you may witness the 4Change of Guards ceremony. Your tour will not be complete unless you visit 6Panathenaic Stadium or Kallimarmaro as Greeks call it.
After exploring downtown Athens, your driver will escort you to the most spectacular viewing point of the 7Lycabettus Hill, the highest hilltop of modern Athens. Surrounded by pine trees and with a breathtaking panoramic view of the city that stretches all the way to the Port of Piraeus, it is the perfect spot for taking some fantastic photos and enjoying the scenery for a few moments.
Before the end of your Sightseeing ride in Athens, you can visit the impressive 9Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre or the cosmopolitan Athenian Riviera.
When your tour comes to an end, your friendly Welcome Driver will drop you off at your accommodation.

We were picked up from our cruise ship from Kostis, who was waiting for us outside the terminal, and made us feel very comfortable on our first visit to Athens. We had 2 teenage girls with us, and he was so easy to talk to, spoke wonderful English, and was engaging, and friendly. We enjoyed our trip to the city center, and he stayed with us, as long as it was allowed, and showed us the important sites and how to enter Acropolis and its Museum. We wanted to visit Athens, and it was such a wonderful honor to visit and we were so happy to have such an engaging, knowledgeable and respectful guide. Kostis made it just perfect for what we had wanted and made us feel at home in his beautiful country and people.
Everything was perfect. Online booking, support and the wonderful guide John, who made this terrific tour the highlight of my visit in Greece. I only regret not having had more time to spent in this wonderful country. When I come back, I will for sure book another tour with Welcome Pickups.
We had a full day tour with Pavlos in August. He arrived on time to pick us up, was courteous, knowledgeable, fun, and efficient. Every minute of our 8 hour private tour was packed with information about Greece and it's people. Even our lunch at a local restaurant included meeting the owner and tasting several of Greek specialties.
