Begin your journey with a scenic drive northwest toward 1Búðir Black Church, a striking black wooden church standing alone amid lava fields with the Atlantic Ocean as its backdrop. This peaceful and photogenic stop perfectly sets the tone for the day.

Continue along the southern edge of the peninsula to 2Arnarstapi & Hellnar Cliffs, where coastal walking paths reveal basalt arches, rugged sea cliffs, blowholes, and seabird nesting areas carved by centuries of Atlantic waves.

Pause next for views of 3Lóndrangar Viewpoint, the glacier-capped volcano made famous by Journey to the Center of the Earth. From nearby viewpoints, admire the imposing peak rising above the surrounding landscape, a powerful symbol of Iceland’s volcanic soul.
