Suggested Itinerary

Take a day trip from Lisbon to Évora, a UNESCO-listed town located 135 km east of the capital. During this experience, you will explore the historic old town and its main landmarks, including the Roman Temple, the Bone Chapel, the Cathedral of Évora, and more. Since the trip is fully customizable, you are free to choose the order of your visits and how much time to spend at each stop.

Your day begins with a personal pickup from your hotel or apartment in Lisbon. Your English-speaking driver will suggest a route featuring the key attractions worth visiting, while allowing you to adjust the itinerary according to your preferences. Throughout the journey, you will travel in an air-conditioned, spacious car equipped with Wi-Fi, water, and light snacks to ensure a comfortable ride. You may stop at picturesque viewpoints, admire Portuguese architecture and nature, and, upon request, enjoy a meal at a local restaurant recommended by your driver.

After approximately 1.5 hours, you will arrive in Évora, a historic city in southeast Portugal recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Begin exploring the old town and its major sights, such as the Cathedral of Évora, a Roman Catholic church dating back to the 18th century. Nearby, you’ll find the Fonte da Porta de Moura, a striking marble fountain that stands out immediately.

A short drive brings you to one of Évora’s most important landmarks—the Roman Temple. Dating back to the 1st century, this ancient structure was built in honor of Augustus, the first Emperor of the Roman Empire, and is a highlight of the city’s UNESCO status.

Another remarkable site is the Bone Chapel, known as Capela dos Ossos, where the walls are lined with real human bones, creating a thought-provoking and unforgettable atmosphere. You will also have the chance to see the Évora Aqueduct, a 16th-century architectural achievement demonstrating impressive technical construction skills.

A visit to the Megaliths of Cromlech Almendres is also worthwhile. This prehistoric site features standing stones from the 5th–6th century BC, adorned with engravings that offer insight into ancient civilizations of southwestern Europe.
