Suggested Itinerary

Take a day trip from Lisbon to Tomar, a historic town in central Portugal, and visit the famous Castle of Almourol. During this experience, you will explore UNESCO-listed landmarks such as the Convent of Christ, the Castle of Almourol, and several other fascinating sites. Since this is a fully customizable trip, you can choose the order of your visits and decide how much time to spend at each location.

Your day begins with a personal pickup from your hotel or apartment in Lisbon. Your English-speaking driver will suggest a route featuring the most notable attractions, while allowing you to adjust the schedule entirely to your preferences. You will travel in an air-conditioned, spacious vehicle equipped with Wi-Fi, water, and light snacks, ensuring a comfortable journey. Along the way, you may stop at scenic viewpoints, admire Portuguese architecture and landscapes, and, if you wish, enjoy a meal at a local restaurant recommended by your driver.

In less than 1.5 hours, you will arrive in Tomar, nestled in the valley of the River Nabão. The town is best known for the Convent of Christ, a UNESCO World Heritage Site whose construction spanned six centuries, resulting in a remarkable blend of architectural styles. After visiting the Convent, you can wander through the charming old town, where authentic Portuguese buildings line the streets. Within a short walk, you will find additional landmarks such as the Synagogue of Tomar and the Church of Santa Maria do Olival.

Once you have finished exploring Tomar, your Welcome Driver will take you toward the Castle of Almourol. This magnificent medieval fortress sits on a small island and cannot be reached by car. You may take photos from the viewpoints recommended by your driver or choose to board a boat to visit the island and explore the castle up close. Your driver will wait for you until you return.
