Me and my kids went for a trip to Nafplio with Michail. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the trip very much. Michail was very pleasant, nice and informative. I recommend the trip and using this company. We would definitely use their services when we go back to Athens.

About the ride
Take a break from the hustle and bustle of Athens with a full-day tour through the amazing Peloponnese peninsula. Your Welcomer will serve as your local guide who will share the historical facts, the necessary information about the sights and, of course, his personal input in order to immerse you into the Athenian lifestyle. The relaxing 1-hour journey will take you right along the beautiful coastline of the Megara Gulf, straight to the iconic Corinth Canal.
- Hotel pickup and dropoff from a professional English Speaking driver / local guide
- 100% Customisable & Private
Your first stop will be at the midway point between the Peloponnese peninsula and the mainland, at 2Corinth Canal. Built in 1893, this ginormous waterway splits the two gulfs and offers passage to even the biggest cargo ships. From the moveable bridge, you can see down 80 meters to the glistening water below, the best spot for some once in a lifetime photos. Ask your driver about the unique history of the canal, and the trivia behind its construction.
From the Corinth Canal, your driver will then take you through the picturesque olive fields of Peloponnese to 3Ancient Corinth. This archeological site was once the most important city in the Classical world, and was the place that inspired St. Paul to write the First and Second Corinthians books for the New Testament. While strolling through the Agora, you must visit the most important monument of Ancient Corinth, the dominating Temple of Apollo.
After soaking up all the amazing Greek history in Ancient Corinth, you will then head to the citadel of the iconic Agamemnon, 4Mycenae. This city is absolutely dripping in Greek history, starting with the 20 foot wide walls, which encase the entrance to the city. Walk through the prestigious Lion’s Gate and enter Agamemnon’s regal throne room, explore the tombs, and pay a visit to the city's fascinating on-site museum.
Your next stop will be in the quaint port town of 5Nafplio Old Town, where you can take a break from all the history and enjoy a spot of shopping. This is a great little spot to enjoy a traditional Greek lunch in one of the many restaurants and cafes. Ask your driver for a locally recommended place, or pick one of your own. After lunch, take some time to visit the pretty Venetian quarter, and gaze upon the Castle of Palamidi sitting high atop the surrounding hills, before returning to your Welcome car and heading to the next stop.
You will then head back through the olive fields and orchards of Peloponnese to the UNESCO listed historical sites of 6Theatre of Epidaurus. Sitting in a small valley, you will find the Shrine of Asklepios, the much-worshiped god of medicine. Standing in the South East of the site is one of the most visited historical monuments in Greece, the Theatre of Epidaurus, a stellar example of a 4th century Greek architectural masterpiece. You can also explore the site's many temples, hospital buildings and the impressive Temple of Asklepios.
Should you have time, your driver will then take you up to one of the most famous vineyards in Greece, the Nemea winery. Here you can take a tour of the wine cellars, with its impressive 1,000 French oak barrels, sample some of Greece’s finest red wine, and gaze out over the stunning vineyards as the sun begins to lower in the sky.
After you have sampled some of the country’s finest wine, you will then head back to your Welcome car, and your driver will take you on a late afternoon drive back to your accommodation in Athens.

Really great tour, great way to see the Peloponese and the Greek countryside. Really felt like you got to see a lot of cool sites, and not sit on a bus all day. Stops were well planned and you never felt overly rushed. Lunch in Nafplio was great, really scenic little town. Our driver, Nick was amazing and was super knowledgeable about Greek history, while also being able to inject some humour into history. Would definitely do this tour again if I ever returned to Greece.
We had a great time. Our guide was very knowledgeble and the sites were very interesting to see. The restaurant we ate at in Nafplio was delicious and the pickup and drop off points were right around the corner from our hostel. Highly recommend this tour!
Welcome was everything the reviews says it is. Our driver, John, was very prompt, a joy to talk with, and very knowledgable. He took our family on a day-long tour to Mycenae, Epidauros, Corinth and Nafplion. He brought what we read about in the tour books alive! Thank you John, we will recommend you to everyone we know who is coming to beautiful Athens and the surrounding area.
