Suggested Itinerary

Begin your private day trip with a convenient pickup from your accommodation in 1Barcelona / Starting Point, then enjoy a scenic 45-minute drive through the beautiful Catalonian countryside toward the impressive 2Montserrat mountain range. Throughout the journey, your Welcome Driver will share local insights, historical background, and cultural context to help you immerse yourself in the Spanish way of life.

Your day starts atop Montserrat National Park, rising 4,000 feet above sea level. Here, you can wander through picturesque nature trails, take in breathtaking 360º views, and capture unforgettable photos of the dramatic landscape. While exploring Montserrat, you may also visit the Benedictine Santa Maria monastery, the 3Museum of Montserrat, and the 4Sant Miquel view point. This remarkable example of gothic architecture, over 1,000 years old, sits nestled midway up the mountain. Be sure to see the Basilica, home to the revered Black Madonna, patron saint of Catalonia, as well as notable works of art, including pieces by El Greco.

If visiting on a weekday, you may have the chance to enjoy a performance by the Escolania boys’ choir—one of the oldest in Europe and a cherished tradition in the region. With additional time, you can also explore the Montserrat audiovisual museum to learn more about the monks who once lived on the mountain.

After an inspiring morning, your journey continues to the renowned Sant Sadurni d’Anoia area, celebrated for more than 450 years of winemaking and home to the world’s largest underground wine cellars, where the first bottle of Cava was produced. Here you may opt for a private wine tasting (optional experience at an additional cost of 19€ per person, or 150€ per group for a guided winery tour; this must be arranged in advance with your assigned driver, or you may contact the winery directly at +34600597038). The Segura Wineries offer guided visits led by English-speaking staff. Before strolling through the vineyards, you can relax with a wine tasting or enjoy an authentic Spanish lunch.

Afterward, settle back into your Welcome vehicle for a leisurely afternoon drive returning you to your accommodation in Barcelona.
