About the ride
If you are wanting to spend a day having an in-depth look at Barcelona’s most iconic and historical sites, then the ‘Best of Barcelona’ tour should be at the top of your list. Barcelona is a huge city, and taking public transport to each site can be very costly. Instead, why not experience this spectacular city from the comfort of your very own air-conditioned car. At a time that suits you, your Welcome driver will pick you up from your chosen accommodation and take you on your fully personalized tour of Barcelona. You can add and take points away from your tour, making it completely customisable, however, the following itinerary is one we suggest.
You will start your tour at the highest point in Barcelona, Mount Tibidabo, standing a gigantic 512 meters high. From the top of this stunning mountain, you will get spectacular 360° views of the entire city. Here you can also choose to walk around the Sagrat Cor Church, or watch the adrenaline seekers in the Tibidabo Amusement Park.
Snaking down the mountainside, you will then reach one of Barcelona’s most famous features, the architectural work of Antoni Gaudí. Although you can see this fantastic display of art throughout different areas of the city, the best places to fully absorb its magnificence are La Sagrada Família and Park Güell. Stepping into Park Güell is like walking into a bright fairytale, with colorful, abstract buildings all around. Ask your driver about tickets for these modernista parks, and we can book them in advance for you. From here you may also want to take a short walk down the Passeig de Gracia to see two of Gaudí’s most iconic houses, La Pedrera and Casa Batlló.
Your driver will then take you to see the modernist architecture of some of Barcelona’s other artists. You mustn’t miss the beautiful Casa Amatller, designed by Josep Puig i Cadafalch for the city’s most prestigious chocolatier in 1898. Another must-see is the historical Hospital de Sant Pau. This 15th-century masterpiece was originally the city's main medical facility and has been declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site of National Interest.
You will then head down the largest road in Barcelona, Avenida Diagonal, to Barcelona’s famous Gothic Quarter. This neighborhood is full of ancient buildings from the Roman and medieval eras, making it a great place to stretch your legs, whilst marveling at the unbelievable architecture. As you near the middle of your tour, it will be time to stop for your authentic Spanish lunch. Your driver will be happy to point out some of his personal recommendations or take you to your preferred restaurant.
After lunch, you will head off to the Jewish Quarter, where you will see the National Palace and two of the city’s most famous squares: Plaza de España and Plaza Catalunya, a sculpture-filled square full of lovely little shops and cafés. You will then make your way down to the coastline, past the famous Olympic Ring, where the 1992 Summer Olympics were held, to the beautiful Montjuïc Castle. Built in 1640, this peaceful Castle boasts some of the city’s most beautiful gardens and panoramic views of the city below.
Your driver will then take you past the iconic Arc de Triomf, to the coastline for your last stops of the day, the lovely Olimpic and Vell ports. Both ports have stunning sea views and amazing traditional architecture, but Port Vell also boasts Europe’s largest aquarium, containing over 8,000 fish and sharks. After you have filled your lungs with the fresh sea air, your driver will then return you to your accommodation or any point of interest you have visited throughout the day.

Feel free to reach out to our customer service team at email@example.com for any specific questions regarding the experience.
Can I customize the tour based on my needs?
Of course, that is one of the main benefits of having a Welcome experience. You can customize every last bit of the experience, from points of visit to time spent per landmark to adding in an extra food stop.
Will there be an official tour guide?
An official tour guide is not included because the overall experience is centered around the driver and the local’s perspective. Although the drivers are very knowledgeable regarding the points of visit, at no point can they be compared with a licensed tour guide who can give more in depth information regarding historic facts and information. If you would like to include an official tour guide in the experience please let us know via email after the booking is completed.
Do I need to be in a good physical shape?
The drivers are trained to adapt the experience depending on the type of participants. Whether you have kids or elders participating, the drivers know exactly how to handle special requests and provide an enjoyable experience accordingly.
Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes and be equipped with wet weather gear if rain is expected. In addition, please note that religious sites require modest attire- knees and shoulders must be covered.
BOOK YOUR TICKETS IN ADVANCE
We strongly recommend booking any entrance tickets in advance. You can ask your Welcome driver about prices, times and general information on tickets.
BE AWARE OF THE HEAT
In the summer months be sure to wear sunscreen, sunglasses, and perhaps a hat, to shield yourself from the sun. We also recommend staying hydrated throughout the tour with the water provided.
Bring cash in the form of local currency (Euros), as many of the local vendors don’t accept card payments.
SPECIAL NEEDS & ACCESSIBILITY
Please let us know if anyone in your group has special needs, or specific accessibility requirements, and we will be sure to accommodate your needs and tailor the tour accordingly.
